Exposure Races November 2009

Due to internet crash locally this afternoon I was unable to do justice to all the races in this series.  I've done I believe 4 of them completely, with just details for the balance.  Links to races are live.

More tomorrow.

Results:

Well we can set the issue to rest if Down For The Riida likes Los Alamitos!  Broke 2nd and started to gain ground from moment 1 to win this event.  Arabesque Rainbow finished 2nd after coming from 5th break at the gate.  Time for Adversity showed some early speed but came up short by the 3/4 pole when the eventual winner took over the race.  Mind you the entire field of horses finished no more than 4 lengths back from the leader.  Nice strong 2 year old filly contingent going into their third year next month!

Synopsis:

Trinas Triumph by Victorious City comes to this race with 4 starts, SI 144, win at 300 yard last race out too. She doesn't have the greatest jockey for this race, so she may not be a contender tonight. Owned by Tudor Family stables group.

Vally of Peace by Generous Dell comes to this race with 4 starts and 2 wins with an SI of 142 also last start at 300 yards. Slightly better jockey than the #1 horse. Owned by Quarter Horse Passion.

Miss Gortex by Dynasty Gortex comes to this race with 5 starts and a win 3 starts ago at 330 yards with an SI of 133. One of the best jockeys at this track will have the reins! So if this filly is capable watch for her crossing near the front coming over the wire. Owned by O-Tay Corral.

El Amiga by Hot Harley comes to this race with 5 starts and 2 wins both in Allowances 3 and 4 starts ago. These wins were at 440 and 550 yards respectfully. SI of 140 too. Unfortunately not the greatest jockey takes her reins, but, she seems to be a game little filly and will do her best. Owned by the TR Farms Family group of stables.

Time for Adversity by Adversity Austin comes to this race with 5 starts and also 2 wins and a nice Si of 143 to boot! Won her last start out at 300 yards. Her jockey R. Summers is definitely a great jockey on this track and will be looking to cash the winners check. Owned by Graded Racing.

Down For The Riida by Flo Riida comes to this race the favorite with 5 starts and 4 wins including an SI of 142. Has never set foot on the Los Alamitos track until tonight, so we shall see if she likes this track too. Guided by E. Fountain another of the top jockeys for this track. Bred by Dottedline who has left us for a short hiatus and now owned by the Tudor Family stables group.

Angel Jolene by Fantastical Quick comes to this race with 5 starts and 1 win with an SI of 136. Has never yet competed at 400 yards though. Her win was from her first start and has had a bit of a slow down in placements since. Her reins will be guided by another top jockey at this track and if he has any say about it will take her over the wire as close as possible to the winner! Owned by Running On Time Stables

Arabesque Rainbow by Arabesque Star Cloud comes to this race with 2 wins in 4 starts, but, the slowest SI of the group with a 127. Unlike the other though she has already been racing at the 400-440 yard range. Another good jockey takes her reins. Another young filly owned by the Tudor Family Group of stables.

Eleanor by Public Enemy comes to this race with no wins in 5 starts. Bred by El Amigo and now back in the hands of Tudor Family group of stables, she has an outside chance of finishing in the top 5 of this race, but, was put into the race as a credit to her breeder since he was instrumental in getting all these races for QH breeders.

Victorious Sleep is also by Victorious City and comes to this race with 3 wins in 5 starts and an SI of 133. She's proven she can run at the 400 range and should be contender for one of the top 5 positions. Also owned by The TR family Group of stables.

Miss U Much by The Escapade has a record of 3 wins in 5 starts with SI of 129. She comes to this race off two back to back Allowance wins at 440 yards. Guiding her will be L. Sauceda one of the respected jockeys at Los Alamitos. Owned by Parker Farms.

Seadog Star by Lil Raybee is the longshot in this race. She is far outclassed in this company based on her previous performances. Four starts and a 3 as her only placement with an SI of 117. Guiding her is a moderately good jockey. Owned by a new stable to the game Cockfighter Stable.

Look for Down For The Riida, Victorious Sleep, Arabesque Rainbow, Time for Adversity and El Amiga to be the top 5 based on past performances. In any order.

Well I had two out of the three I picked in the top 4!  Arabesque Desiree went to the front from the break and never had any serious contenders to challenge her.  Layan got the 2nd check coming from 4th at the break to finish a length back from the winner.  Little Bit of Luck Required has shown today she can race in this competition for the 3rd check and only a length back.  Watch for these fillies continuing their weekly battles in the stakes!

Synopsis:

Italian Fusion by Hyperventilate. 22 starts, 6 wins, none on this track. Owned by Carder Racing Inc. C. Meadows is the jockey. This filly is coming up from Allowances, she will need to speed up and cover ground to beat the long time stakes fillies she's racing against.

Bits And Bytes by Gambling For Good. 23 starts, 8 wins, first time on this Track. Owned by Gladiator. H. Alfred gets the ride. Older Filly with some strong races of recent note with high Sis. Coming off a win in Santa Rosa last week.

Layana by Gambling For Good. 16 starts, 6 wins, including 1 win on this track. Owned by RTR Racing Horses. A. Gales gets the ride. This girl has been battling a number of the other fillies in this race. Tonight is the big night for her to pull it together and beat them all.

Little Bit of Luck Required by Arabesque Star Cloud. 17 starts, 3 wins. Owned by the lately Absent G. Riley – QH. L. Sauceda has the trip. This filly has been missing her owner in the past few weeks and her performance is showing it. She's been unable to get ahead of the other classy fillies in this field.

U Know Bacca by U Know of Me. 16 stars, 5 wins including one on this track. Owned by Disneyland. A. Engleman has the reins. Last time she won was October 8th in New Orleans. She has yet to take home the big money in November.

Kyomu by Covet Nothin. Owned by Brassy Farms. 15 starts, 5 wins including a stakes win on this track. R. Kieffer has the ride. This filly hasn't won since since the Exposure last month on this track. She doesn't benefit though from the same jockey and isn't quite the same filly as a month ago.

Made In Moderation by Freedom in Moderation. 23 starts, 6 wins including 2 on this track. Owned by D-Ring Ranch with K. Youmans in the saddle. This filly returns to stakes possibly the last one before retirement. She won last trip to the gate in allowance on this track. Mind you she was racing a shorter distance and the SI wasn't super fast. She has her work cut out for her this race.

Sunny Power by Sunny Ale. 23 starts, 10 wins, 1 on this track. Owned by TR Farms with E. Coney in the saddle. This filly has been battling a number of fillies in this field. She's older now and has not had a win since October 28th in Mt. Pleasant. Her last outings at this distance she has finished a strong 2nd. Perhaps tonight she can pick up the big money!

Arabesque Mystery by Arabesque Star Cloud. 16 starts, 3 wins including 2 on this track. Owned by Sonora Valley Ranch with D. Dambrosio in the saddle. This filly is jumping from allowances to this race. She maybe a bit out of her league though. Last win on this track was October 23. She will have to motor tonight to keep up.

Repeating Daggers by Daggers Know. 7 starts with 1 win, 2nd start on this track. She is the youngest one in the race. Owned by Gladiator and D. Bradfield gets the ride. This filly is in her second start in recent weeks in a stakes. She finished a strong 4th to a number of the fillies last week in Santa Rosa. She is looking to finish as strong tonight.

Arabesque Crew by Arabesque Star Cloud. 17 starts, 4 wins. No previous outings on this track. Owned by the lately absent G. Riley – QH and the ride has been given to D. Massengale. This filly has been struggling weekly in stakes. She's having one fairly good race and then bad consistently. She won an allowance in Vinton two weeks ago. Her last stakes win though was October 8th. She maybe outclassed in this field tonight.

Arabesque Desiree by Arabesque Star Cloud. 16 starts, 8 wins including a 2nd at this track in a stakes. Owned by Tudor Stable with R. Summers getting the ride. This filly comes off a stakes win in Sacramento last week with an SI of 150. She should be in the top group coming to the wire.

Race Synopsis: This is a strong field of fillies. Look to find Sunny Power, Bits and Bytes and Arabesque Desiree being the major contention.

Top Stud Spotlight:

Arabesque Star Cloud

ASC has been #1 stud now for about 3 months. Bred and owned by Tudor (myself), he was the product of a choice for a stud for his great mare Arabesque Dynasty. I chose Keroons sire Sagittarius Star Cloud for a very unusual reason. Because of the name and it being the star sign that covers my birthday time period! Yes Laugh! Its true.

ASC dam has been very prolific for Tudor Family Stables with 3 offspring with earnings from $1.7M to $2M. She only produced 1 filly for me and her first foal is now racing. It should be noted here that ASC brother is Dynasty Gortex who is also proving to be a fairly good sire too!

Top offspring to date:

Arabesque Reality

$2,890k

High Sierras

Arabesque Desiree

There are 16 yearlings of his about to start. His stud fee has been raised to $60K for November. I am very much amazed at how this stud is producing and hope others are enjoying racing his foals as I am.

Spotlight on Arabesque Reflections

Owned by D-Ring Stables and bred by Tudor Racing

www.trophyhorse.com/users/horse_info.aspx?id=448789

Specifically why you bought or bred this horse?

I bought Reflections as a yearling colt because I wanted a shot at owning a great stakes horse. He had great beta times and an impeccable pedigree. His sire, Arabesque Star Cloud, has already sired several million dollar earners and a number one colt.

What you hope he will achieve?

I'd like to see him come in the money in his next race, the 300y Ice Derby. It could be tough though, we're up against El's Symbiotic. As a three year old in October I hope to see him in the top ten QHs.

Long term goals in QHs?

My long term goal for Reflections is to be a good sire. I'd like to see some high dollar earners out of him. As for my long term goal in QHs in general I would like to breed and race my first #1 horse. Currently, I am #57 in the top QH stables. I would like to make it to at least top 30, maybe top 10 after more time in the game. I put a lot of effort into the game and I think I can do it.

Anything else you would like to say?

I'd like to point out 3 people who have really helped me out so far. El Amigo, Tudor, and Brassy. You three have been a tremendous help to me and I wouldn't be this far without you. Tudor, I wouldn't have owned this great horse, Arabesque Reflections, without your help. Thank you all!

Spotlight on Party In The Back

Bred and Owned by Dottedline Ranch

She really turned out to be way more than I expected. Her beta times were terrible. That was the month we changed to QH betas and the best she did was, race day...23.04. That's after a full month of works. Honestly, I chose TDB to be her daddy for 2 reasons...TDB (Third Degree Burn) was also born and raced in my stable and has produced some awesome offspring...just not for me!! Never for me, and I used him alot. Not framiliar with the Easy Know lines, and here comes the second reason I used him...I noticed that El had bred his Easy Know mare, Absolut, to TDB. He got Latic Acid, and I got PIB. Just as a side note, watch for this gal she is the full sister to PIB, and my mares 3rd foal.

www.trophyhorse.com/Users/horse_info.aspx?id=453293

As far as my plan to breed PIB. I have yet to decide if I am going to race her into her 6th year. She still has never raced below 3rd place. I have raced her mostly distance, and only ran her at a 300 to see what SI's she could run at that distance 156/152 resp (not bad for a distance filly). If I do retire her I will be looking hard at Flo Riida, or DD of Sunday.

As far as a few thoughts for the readers...I built my barn off watching breedings from upper stables (in my early days ) like Lolita Park, Tr, you (Tudor), and Brassy to name a few, and I still swear by this method. Still use it to this day, but, now I can afford to do any experimental breedings I choose to find the next hidden stud.

Spotlight on Lucky Chicken

Bred and Owned by Brassy_Trumpet

1)When did you realize you had a 2 year old champion sitting in your stable?

My first thought when I saw your email was, "What champion horse?" So I must still not know she's a champion.

2) What prompted you to keep her?

What me sell a filly!? Aside from that Dude was one of my super distance fillies so I had hopes that she'd produce nice distance foals too.

3) Where do you think she will be racing in the coming month?

In any distance race I can find for her, which if there's only one she'll probably keep coming in second to true champ Gullu. Unless one day she decides she doesn't like looking at her behind.

4) What are your future expectations of her abilities?

I hope that she keeps plodding ahead and either keeps getting second place or maybe even win a few more times until she turns six then she can continue the Evil Chicken line for another generation.

5) Any thoughts you'd like to share about Lucky Chicken?

I keep thinking she's a daughter of Chicken Wings, not one of his many cousins. I think I might have too much poultry in the barn.
